Happy Birthday Alayna

Our Little girl will be 4 tomorrow. It goes by so fast. I remeber being in the hospital with her like it was yesterday with the snow storm that we had but yet my sister came up with me for the day and sat with me and that was about it. Ty was up to but not for the whole day. Not many visitors that day at all. Alescia and I had a photo shoot with her and just hung out watching the snow. The day she was born was a surprise for me when I was just getting ready for that c-section and Ty says her middle name should be Nicole so I agreed not wanting to argue about it at that time. I had quite some upset people with me that her middle name was not K but that is alright her name fits her quite right.

She has turned in to quite a little girl and very girly. Loves clothes and shoes for sure. She helped me make cupcakes tonight of course we have princess cupcake liners and pink frosting on them. And for her b-day cake I will be attempting to make the barbie doll cake. This should be fun.

Ok So I guess that I have forgotten about the blog for quite sometime but we have been busy this fall and now that Christmas is done maybe it will be easier. I have started a new buisness with Uppercase living. I have this in our house and just love it and it is something that I can be creative with and do new things with the product. Ty helped me last weekend but a huge one behind the couch. That was fun..

Alayna is still doing her gymnastics and is loving that. She would really like to take dance also but I just have not found anywhere for that yet.

Trenton is just hanging out right now. No sports right now just been playing with his new DS and doing homework. They are doing lots of reading and math and writing. He is improving so much it is really exciting to see that all happen.

Ty is still working with Notions but just had an interview for a position at Spectrum for a material handler. He was in the top 6 of 150 applicants. That is great news so we are hoping and crossing our fingers that he will get that. This will at least get him in the door and then he can apply for the internal postings that come open.

I have just been working and that is going well. Trying to scrapbook more and just spend time with the kids and Ty. Trying to get healthy and lose some weight you know everyones new years resolution.

We will try to stay caught up.

Fall Day at Frog Hollow

We took the kids to the park a few weeks ago ya know when it was nice out. I was trying to get a good picture of the two of them together but Trenton was not up for the posing picture taking. Alayna was all about it and wanted her picture taken everywhere. Alayna is doing the monkey bars all by herself I guess gymnastics may be paying off.

Alayna of course was Sleeping Beauty and Trenton a pirate. Lots of fun with Trentons school party and then a long day of running to Nana's work and then had more than enough candy. Went out trick or treating with Nana and Dad then met up with Trenton's buddy bobby from school and their family so then I went with them for a while.

Rollar Skating

My mom and I took the kids to the Byron Center Rollar Rink today. My cousins have been going with their kids so I thought oh that sounds like fun and we have to do something anyways Ty has to paint the ceiling today. So we get our skates and Alayna was all over the place. Trenton started out little rusty and then he was flying around the rink. It was fun and a bit of exercise at the same time which is needed. The kids had a lot of fun and want to go back. I am sure that my legs will be feeling it tomorrow. That will be good. Pictures will be coming soon of this event.

Obie Update

Well Ty took Obie to the Vet earlier this week and she is now almost 4lbs that it awesome sine when we got her she was about 1.5 lbs. She is really good and been good for the kids except when she is not wanting to be picked up by Alayna and she gets mad at her about it.

Ty has rescued a kitty this weekend. She went to the vet today and she is about 9wks old. The kids came up with the name I am sure you can tell who came up with what. We need to get her to eat more and get her at the weight that she should be at. She seems very good and calm she was playing around tonight with the kids.

Well we have been busy lately with Football games every saturday and a few weddings that we have had. I will be heading out for a weekend full of scrapbooking and girl stuff on Thursday (can't wait). Alayna is starting to learn her letters at school and trenton is reading away and writing. He really wants a chapter book.

Football

Trenton's first football game is tomorrow. They had a scrimage the other night and he did awesome. i must say I was a bit nervous when he was on the front line and the kid that he was blocking was at least a head taller than him but Trenton just pushed him back and did what he was suppose to do. It was really great. I am a bit scared about this but he is all about playing and seems to love it. Hopefully it is not raining tomorrow for the game but if it is we will be sitting there watching for sure.

Trenton's 1st day of school

Oh My Gosh it is here.. Trenton is in 1st grade. Alayna and I brought him to school and walked around the school with him but he would not let me bring my camera... Embaressed already I guess. He is excited about it and they even have their own lockers. I did get a couple of pictures of him coming out of school without him knowing.

It only took us all summer but he finnally did it.... He actually did this for the first time when my mom was watching them for a day. This is the first time that I got to see it.

Labor day weekend

We went to Phyllis and Gary's Cottage on Sunday with the kids. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. Trenton and Ty took out the Kyaks and Ty didn't get to do a lot of paddeling since Trenton took over and then he was a pro. Did a little fishing and then realized that noone had a fishing license. Playing in the sand and just sitting in the sun.

We're Back

Ok so I have been slacking for a while now and promise to post some new stuff soon. We have been busy. Trenton started football practice last week and open house for school. His first game will be on Sept 13th only the one day that we have a million things going on. Oh well we will work it out. We went through clothes today and Trenton has gotten bigger some pants are way to short and shirts are too small. Alayna well her pants seem to fit her good and probably just need to get her some shirts so that is good at least some things still work.
Trenton will be in first grade and they have lockers for the kids to use that is so cool. Alayna will be moving to a new class at daycare this year sad but exciting she will be more in a preschool class and she will be learning soo much.

I don't know if anyone knows or has heard of any phlebotomy jobs that are open for Ty. Please let us know if you do so that he can apply and get into something soon. It is getting frustrating for him. Since Spectrum keeps telling him that he is on the top of the list and all the positions that he applied for have been filled.

Our Newest Football Player

We went out and found Trenton a helmet and shoulder pads today for Football that he will be starting in Aug with his buddy from school. They are playing for SKRA. Trenton was so excited that he would not take off the practice jersey that he got and the minute we got home he told Ty that he needed to practice so Ty gets him ready and there they go. Hope some of you will be able to come watch him this fall...It should be good to watch and fun for him.

The Big Day

The Furniture Comes Today...... No more sitting on the hard floor to watch TV. So I got up at about 6:30AM since the sales guy said that they would be here betweem 8-12 to deliver it. I get all ready and sweep and wash all the end tables down. Why would I think that they would really be here between that time to deliver so at about 12:20 I called and our order never got put on the truck to deliver it this morning. I told them that I needed this today. My In-laws were over to see it and put in the new back door and my mom also stopped by since it should have been there. So now they should be here between 2-5 so I ran out to get some new lamps and they arrived with the furniture probably about 3 or so.....Here is also the finished floor before the furniture.

Friday Night with TJ

We babysat TJ for a few hours Friday night with no living room furniture this was fun for him a whole room just to run around in. Alayna tries to be so helpful with her Cousin but she is also very very jelous when Ty or I hold him or Play with him she needs to be right on top of us. She would be so Jelous if we had another baby (which we are not planning). So we played downstairs for a while with cars and then went outside for a popsicle and then in for a quick tub and jammies. We had some fun with him and the kids always ask for him to come over to play.

New Floors

Ty and I have been wanting to rip up the carpet that has been in our house since we moved in (8 years ago) so since Ty's parents were taking the kids on Saturday for the day and night we decided to get that done. Ty ripped that carpet up and we took out the tack boards and staples and the hardwood is very nice so we got it all cleanned up and then we went out furniture shopping that was fun since we have never bought new furniture for our house. We finally decided on something and it will be delivered on Saturday. Some of you may know but the furniture that we had in there came from my mom's house and they probably bought it when we were in middle or high school so it has seen better days. Ty took today off to put the finish on the floors and we will now just wait for the new furniture to be delivered on Saturday. I will take some update pictures when the furniture arrives. This is the floor when Ty sanded it.

Fourth of July

We went to the Grandville Parade with our friends Scott, Amber,Zach and Nicholas and my mom and Paul also met us there. This is quite a good parade but you have to get there early to get a good seat we got there at about 9:30 and all up and down the street is blankets people had been out that morning setting up their spots. We found a great spot still at the begining of the parade where all the candy is and moved in. The kids were so excited for it to get started but there was a bit of a wait when we got there. They got a ton of candy and shot by squirtguns of water that was nice. After that we went to mom's for swimming and a cookout. Then we came home for a minute and got cleanned up and then went to find a spot for fireworks. We went in Kentwood and we were able to go to the little carnival stuff they had for the kids before the fireworks. Trenton fell asleep during the fireworks and Alayna was out once she was in her seat. Busy day but so much fun.

Fourth of July Eve

Earlier in the week Ty and Trenton went out to buy some fireworks to do. So about every day before Thursday night they were bugging us to do fireworks. Here is the Big Night of Ty's Firework display. It was fun although Alayna dosen't like the booms and Trenton thinks that he could light them and then be right there. Trying to beat the heat

Ty and Trenton went out for a bike ride saturday afternoon and they came racing back to see if Alayna wanted to go down to the school by us they had the water fountains on. So they both got their suits on and off on our bikes we went. They said that the water was cold but they had so much fun. Alayna just asked if we could go there today... It is a bit cold now.

Happy Fathers Day

It was a good fathers day. We really just hung out and went for breakfast and then my dad and the girls came over for dinner. Trenton brought Ty home some doughnuts from Daycare that he frosted and put sprinkles on it. Alayna made a bookmark for him with her foot print on it and also in the bag from her was some peanuts and a can of root beer. Hope all you dads out there had a great fathers day also.

The Finished Project

Our Project is Finished.... We decided to plant and put bark down one of these past weekends when it was sooo hot... It was really hot and humid but we got it done. I planted and then Ty put the bark down while I moved some more things around. I must say that it looks very good and we wish we did this so much sooner.

Weekend Project

So Ty and I had a grand idea a few weeks ago to rip out all the trees and the railroad ties on the side of our house since most of the railroad ties were getting rotten and the trees scratch the side of your car all the time. I have also hit some of the railroad ties so they were all coming out of the ground and crooked. So since we had the trailer and some time this weekend away we went. Ty cut all the trees down and in the mist of that the chain came off the chainsaw all tangled so he went to the hardware store for a new chain. Then on Monday morning he went out to Lowes and got the new landscape ties to replace the old ones. I will have to level it a bit and will be using some plants to fill in and then bark on top. It looks about 100 times better than before.

Zoo Field Trip with Trenton's School

I volunteered to go to the Zoo with Trenton's class. It was fun and a very nice day. These are the boys that were in my group. We had a lady talk to the class about the different animal classes and then show some animals that they could touch. Then we all ate lunch and then had about an hour in the zoo. It was a fast trip through the zoo.

Alescia and I cooked dinner for the Mothers day dinner. It was a really good dinner and we did it all. Mom kept trying to help and we had to tell her to sit down. We had steak,chicken and shrimp kabobs. Potatoes on the grill and veggies sauted on the stove. Then for desert we had Cake from Arnies that was really good

The Whitcaps Game

On May 2nd, Ty and I took Trenton and 2 boys to the whitcaps game for Trentons birthday. I thought this would be a great idea. They were all pretty good just a little wild and they were bottomless pits they wanted pizza, popcorn and then cotton candy. It was a fun time and a good experience. Ty and I felt a little old at this point. This was the first time that we really took Trenton out with his friends. He is growing up so fast.

Trenton's Ball Games

Trenton's first game was on April 30th and they have games every Monday Wednesday and Friday. I never thought at age 6 you would be running to all these nights of ball games and they all start at 6:00 so it is a run by the time I get out of work and pick them up at daycare and grab a bite to eat and go. He has been doing very well. They combined Pitching maching and tee ball this year. At his game this past wednesday he had an awesome game. He hit about 3 times from the pitching machine and good hits also. Maybe the practice with Larry at Jenn's open house helped and Ty took him to the school and practiced with him. He also played 2nd base and was making good plays and getting kids out. He has improved so much and we are so proud of him. Of course this past wednesday we didn't have the video camera or the regular camera with us and it was just Ty and I watching him.

I can hardly believe it but Trenton is 6 today. It seems like just yesterday that he was a baby. It has really gone by fast. Tonight he had his first ball game and he hit off the pitching machine once a very good hit and then two times off the tee. Friday we are taking him and 2 friends to the whitecaps game for his bday.

Ty's Graduation

The time has come for Ty to Graduate. This is a very big accomplishment and was not an easy time in our lifes very hectic but we are almost through this. Ty has Graduated with a 3.9 gpa before the final classes grades were in. Now onto the internship and onto a new job.

Trenton's First Sleepover Friday 4-25-08

Trenton had his very first sleepover at his friend Brayden's house on Friday. He went to Brayden's from school on friday and then they went to play and then dinner the park and the hot tub and ice cream and a movie I am sure they were really tired. We picked him up at 9:00 in the morning to go to swim lessons and he was tired.

Trenton's early birthday present

Today we went to Toys R Us just to get Trenton a new helmet so he could start trying to ride his little bike without the training wheels. We were also just going to "look" at the bikes so we would know what size he needs. You guessed it we just bought the bike while we were there and told Trenton that this is his bday present from us. He is very excited about it. We had to ride around the block when we got home so he could show his friend Bobby his new bike.

Ty's Internship

Ty had an interview today with Blodgett for his internship and they have hired him on for this. Once he is done with that then he will be done so hopefully it all goes well and may turn into a job there. Ty will be graduation on Sunday April 27th.

Well here it is the Twins finally turn 21. Wow how old do I feel now. I remember them when they are babies and I dropped Kendra on her head once. How time has flies. We celebrated on Monday at BW3 and on Friday will be going out downtown for the night. April 14th 2008

So we signed Alayna up through the Kentwood Rec Department for this little dance class. Today is the first day of Class she is really excited so we rush home and I have just comfortable clothes for her to wear and she is fighting me the whole time gettting dressed. She went to her room and pulled out her Christmas dress and thought that she had to wear that so she could spin after trying to reason with her and almost not going because she would not get dressed she finally got her pants and tee shirt on and we left. While the other little girls had little leotards on, so now my mom will be taking Alayna to buy her an outfit before her next class on Monday. I was all excited thought I would be able to get some video and pictures and the instructor says that we had to wait in the lobby so we would not distract the girls.

Double J Waterpark

April 11 to the 13th

We took the kids to the Double J waterpark for the Weekend since Trenton was on Spring break and we already went on a vacation this year. We stayed at the Thoughrobread lock out suite which just dosen't have the full kitchen in it but still has all the essentals that you would need. This was very nice but little did we know that you have to walk a very short way outside to get to the waterpark. On Friday night they showed a movie and ice cream social in the lobby of the main building so after about a half hour or so into the movie the kids were pretty much asking to go to bed so off we go back to our room and the kids fall fast asleep with mom and dad right behind them. On Saturday my mom came up for the day to play in the water and also so Ty and I could go on some of the waterslides also. Trenton would not go on the big slides but he found a smaller one that he would go on. Alayna's favorite part was probably the hot tub for kids and adults and the little slide that she spent most of her time on.

Swim Lessons

April 5th 2008

So both of the kids have been taking Swimming lessons for a couple of weeks now at Kentwood High School and Today the teacher says we are going to try and get all the kids so go off the diving board today. They were in their class doing their normal stuff and Alayna who is getting a bit braver must have let go of the side of the wall and remind you she cannot touch and dosen't have any flotation on. Of course I was not paying attention and the teacher is helping another kids further out and I see another mom go over to the side and try to grab her so My first reaction was to jump in and just as I see another life guard jump in and grap her. So after setteling her down she got back in and then it was time for the diving board one teacher in the water and one lifting them in so after me picking both of them up and dragging them over there and walking them to the end of the board and lifting them in they were fine. Ty and I were very proud of both of them. Trenton was actually smiling when he was done while Alayna was crying still.
